Recently I’ve had lots of free time on my hands, and when this happens the part of me that’s a bit “type A” refuses to be idle. To fill my time I try to find free/inexpensive events happening in the city and share them out to all my friends. Below is a compiled list of upcoming San Francisco events all happening in December.
Chronicle Books Warehouse Sale | Thurs Dec 14th-16th
This is Chronicle Book’s biggest sale of the year with products up to 80% off! Find stationary gifts, cookbooks, novels, and everything in between. I’m definitely going to stop by to pick up some Christmas gifts; I recommend getting their early before all the good stuff is gone.

Even though Timbuk2 isn’t too much my style, the high-quality backpacks and messenger bags are loved by all my outdoorsy friends. Check out the warehouse sale to find their products at up to 70% off. Don’t worry about shopping hungry, there will also be coffee and breakfast snacks for purchase!

ASL: Cringeworthy Tales from the Early Days of the Internet | Fri Dec 16th
Anyone remember AOL Instant Messenger? It was my go-to chatting platform during high-school and I even used it to send flirty messages back then to my now-fiancé. Apparently its shutting down forever on December 15th :(. In honor of the death of AIM, a group of comedians will be sharing cringey real-life stories celebrating early days of the internet.

Coin Op Free Play 40+ Games & Pinball | Sun Dec 31st
Anyone who knows me, knows I’m a huge fan of old-school arcade games (theres a long story behind this). So when I first learned about Coin Op I was pretty excited; they have a collection of 40+ game and pinball machines! On New Years eve they’re offering “free play” on all machines, meaning unlimited joy and opportunities of getting on those scoreboards. Leave your quarters at home!
