Old Man Style

“Imma take your grandpa’s style, imma take your grandpa’s style,
No, for real. Ask your grandpa. Can I have his hand-me-downs?”

Thank you Macklemore & Ryan Lewis for calling out this old man / oversized clothes look that I rock during the winter months. I love this style even though it makes me look hipster AF. I’m not going to deny it any longer, I rock thrifted clothes, order avocado toast, and spend way too much time lusting over Urban Outfitters housewares – I’m a hipster and its okay. As long as you own it right?

Anyways on a recent chilly afternoon I was wearing one of my favorite vintage cardigans. It was owned by my grandpa, so its an extra special sweater for me. Paired with skinny jeans and a pink beanie, my SF winter look is complete.

New Years Eve Glam | Three Vintage Looks

It’s a fact, the way you spend your New Years sets the tone for the rest of your year right? At least thats what I’ve been told growing up; and why I always wear lucky polka dots and have cash in my pockets once the clock strikes midnight (its a filipino tradition).

For 2018 I’m hoping for a year filled with good friends, family, and amazing fashion! In collaboration with emerging vintage retailer Covetedge; I have three gorgeous New Years inspired looks to share.

When choosing a vintage going-out ensemble sequin and sparkle is always the way to go! This 80’s dress is covered in unique multi-colors and fine beading, you can’t help be the center of attention in this outfit 🙂 Styled with a matching beret kept the dress casual for the day and when the hat comes off, party time!

A Current Affair

Its no secret that I’m a huge fan of vintage clothes, so when I heard A Current Affair was coming to the bay area I was psyched and instantly texted my girlfriends to buy tickets.  If you’re not familiar with this fashion popup sensation, its an event that brings the top vintage retailers and private dealers in the country together for an amazing day of shopping, inspiration, and treasure hunting. Prices range from reasonable $35 to woah woah woah $3000+, but for one-of-a-kind Chanel, East West, and Gucci pieces what can you expect? This sale has also attracted teams from free people, Trina Turk and even Sophia Amoruso who called it the “best vintage on the planet”. So yeah, A Current Affair is the real deal, and if you are obsessed with vintage like I am you must check them out. Also take a peek at their instagram – they got real nice pictures on there.

Initially a bit overwhelmed, I found myself going through racks and rack of vibrant prints; feminine florals, multicolored stripes. My eyes were on the prize; I was searching for sweet 60’s psychedelic pieces. Most vendors had a decent selection of accessories, tables full of jewelry, shoes, and purses. I love large statement pieces; mixing vintage earrings & necklaces to my everyday outfits is one way I try to create unique and fashionable looks.
